Provide Google Play Services in emulators for testing native applications.

We cannot automate native application tests in Saucelabs because our application needs Google Play Services in the emulator.

    Is there an emulator with Google Play Services Version 9.2?
    If yes, which one?

    @Leo - currently none, because Google hasn't released an Android system image with version 9 of GMS yet.

    May I know what emulator to choose if I want to test a device that has version 9 of Google Play Services?

    We have released Google Play Services on emulators. Unfortunately Google silently updated them again, so we have to update it. In the meanwhile, if you could build your apps explicitly against an older version of Google Play Services, it could still work:

    How you do that depends on what build tools you are using for your Android project. The easiest is if you use gradle. If so, you just need to edit your build.gradle to reference version 8.1.0:

    dependencies {
        compile fileTree(dir: 'libs', include: ['*.jar'])
        compile ''

    If you are not using gradle its a bit more involved. More info here:

    We have started work on this feature so it should be available in the near term. Thanks for your patience!

    I see this is marked as "planned".  Any rough ETA?

    We have the same problem.

    This seems to be quite necessary
