Allow wild cards to specify domains that needs to be ignored by Sauce Connect

Scenario

  • Customer has many domains of the format *.company.com (50+)
  • Customer uses many 3rd party hosted resources during tests (30+)
  • Customer has some domains they would like to not be tunnelled (2)

To achieve this, the customer is using 'tunnel-domains' to tunnel *.company.com. This lets their analytics, marketing, cart tracking and so on code go directly through the 'net.

They'd like to also load content from their CDN directly, but their CDN content is loaded from videos.company.com, photos.company.com, gifs.company.com.

They would like to be able to be able to give this list to --direct-domains, and have anything matching this list ignore the tunnel. This saves them from listing out all 50 domains as arguments to --tunnel-domains.

bin/sc --tunnel-domains *.company.com, --direct-domains videos.company.com,photos.company.com,gifs.company.com

rather then

bin/sc --tunnel-domains bees.company.com,fish.company.com,server1.company.com,ad.company.com,nauseum.company.com,and.company.com.so.company.com,on.company.com,for.company.com,ever.company.com*.company.com,until.company.com,death.company.com

I have opened a ticket in the product backlog for this feature. I don't have an ETA at this time.

    Best,

    Jean
