Submit an idea and make Sauce Labs even better!
Both Sauce and sauce/connect gems are deprecated. Gem is much easier to use compare to running subprocess commands in the code.
I talked to our resident Ruby/Selenium expert. He said that we're working on new sauce bindings for all the languages including ruby. He also said that we'll make it easy to specify tunnel in capabilities and access open tunnels with the given account, but Sauce Connect should be either in high availability mode, or started / stopped in the build tool (or Jenkins pipeline config). You shouldn't be running sauce connect via a subprocess in ruby code at this point.
I'll be setting this to "Will not Implement", but I hope this helps.
